Life story
1950

Pastor Sunday Clement Akinlosotu's life journey is a testament to determination, faith, and the
pursuit of education and service to both God and humanity. Born on December 11, 1950, into
the family of Chief Philip Akinlosotu Ojagbule, his early years were marked by challenges and
obstacles that would shape his remarkable story.
Pastor Akinlosotu's educational journey began at St. Pius Catholic Primary School, where he
spent three years from 1955 to 1957. However, due to certain circumstances, he had to
relocate to live with his father's senior uncle in Atijere. It was at St. Jude Primary School in
Atijere, Ilaje, that he completed his primary education.
Despite his promising academic potential, financial constraints hindered his progress. His
family's limited resources forced him to withdraw from Stella Maris College Okitipupa before
completing his secondary education. Nevertheless, his unwavering determination and the
support of his father's younger brother, Francis Otekaye, who resided in Lagos, would prove to
be a turning point in his life.
In 1966, Francis Otekaye brought young Sunday to Lagos, where he embarked on a journey of
self-improvement. He pursued a trade in "Typing and Shorthand" under the guidance of a
mentor known as "Manager" on Oshodi Street, Lagos. Simultaneously, he attended evening
classes at Methodist Boys High School on Broad Street. His dedication and hard work paid off as
he excelled in his studies and passed the General Certificate of Education (GCE) examinations in
one sitting.
With this accomplishment, Pastor Akinlosotu's dreams of higher education were reignited. In
1976, he secured admission to the prestigious University of Ibadan, a remarkable achievement
for a family that had never before seen one of its members enter a university. While pursuing
his degree, he approached his family for financial support, and they embarked on this journey
together with faith and determination.
In 1980, Pastor Akinlosotu graduated from the University of Ibadan, a testament to his
resilience and dedication. The following year, he earned a Federal Government scholarship to
pursue a Master's program in the United States of America. Simultaneously, he secured
employment with the Central Bank of Nigeria, beginning his career as a Senior Supervisor.
Over the years, Pastor Akinlosotu's dedication and hard work within the Central Bank of Nigeria
led to a notable rise through the ranks. He eventually reached the esteemed position of
Assistant Director before his retirement in 2004.
After retiring from the corporate world, Pastor Akinlosotu decided to dedicate his time and
energy to the service of God and humanity. In 2019, he was anointed as a full pastor in the
Redeemed Christian Church of God, where he had previously served in various capacities and
parishes.
Beyond his impressive career, Pastor Sunday Clement Akinlosotu found love and
companionship in his wife, Mrs. Olufunke Enitan Akinlosotu. Their union has been blessed with
four wonderful children.

Pastor Akinlosotu's life serves as an inspiring example of how determination, faith, and
resilience can overcome adversity and lead to a life of service and achievement. His journey
from humble beginnings to becoming a respected pastor and successful professional is a
testament to his unwavering commitment to personal growth and his dedication to both his
family and faith.
